Who we are

Insight Progress Limited ("we", "us") operates the Insight Progress coaching platform. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at info@insightprogress.com.

What we collect

  • Account data — name, email, password hash, profile photo, role.
  • Health & fitness data — workouts, nutrition logs, body measurements, progress photos, check-ins, sleep and activity data you enter or sync.
  • Coaching data — messages with your coach or AI coach, plans, questionnaires and reviews.
  • Billing data — subscription status and payment identifiers. Card details are handled by Stripe; we never see or store them.
  • Technical data — device/browser information, IP address, and diagnostic logs.

Special category data

Health and fitness information is "special category" data under the UK/EU GDPR. We process it only on the basis of your explicit consent, given when you create an account and when you choose to log or share this information. You may withdraw consent at any time by deleting the data or your account.

Why we process it (legal bases)

  • Contract — to provide the app, your plans, and your subscription.
  • Explicit consent — health data, progress photos, sharing with a coach, marketing emails, optional analytics.
  • Legitimate interests — securing the platform, preventing abuse, and improving the service.
  • Legal obligation — accounting, tax and lawful requests.

Who can see your data

Your coach can see the training, nutrition and check-in data you share with them while you are subscribed to them. Other users only see what you deliberately publish to the community. Our processors are listed on the subprocessors page.

AI processing

Some features send your coaching data to AI model providers to generate plans, reviews and replies. Providers act as processors under contract, and your data is not used to train their public models.

International transfers

Some processors are located outside the UK/EEA. Where that happens we rely on adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses together with appropriate technical safeguards.

Retention

We keep your account data while your account is active. After deletion we remove or anonymise personal data within 30 days, except records we must keep for legal or accounting reasons (typically 6 years for invoices).

Your rights

  • Access, correct, or delete your data.
  • Export your data in a portable format.
  • Withdraw consent or object to processing.
  • Restrict processing, and complain to your local data protection authority.

You can delete your account in the app, or email info@insightprogress.com. We respond within one month.

Children

The platform is not for anyone under 16. We delete accounts we learn belong to under-16s.

Cookies and similar storage

We use essential browser storage to keep you signed in and to make the app work offline. Optional analytics and error monitoring only run if you accept them in the cookie banner; you can change your choice at any time from Profile → Privacy.

Changes

We will notify you in the app before material changes take effect. The current version of this policy is 2026-08-12.
